Attica is one of the largest and most fashionable department store chains in Greece. It is considered the leading fashion destination and a one-stop-shop for designer brands in both Athens and Thessaloniki. The premises are built according to the highest European and International Standards, with an architecture reminiscent of the shops in Galeries Lafayette and Harrods.

Risks & Consequences

Electrical fires can cause enormous collateral damage when left uncontrolled. Electrical panels are crucial equipment in any modern facility which nonetheless entail a major fire risk. Therefore, protection in electrical infrastructure and especially electrical panels is of particular importance. With so many stores involving so many electrical panels, Attica Malls needed a partner that could safeguard its infrastructures and avoid endangering its customers.

The Task

Design, supply, install, commission and maintain a fire detection and suppression system to protect 200 electrical panels across all Attica’s stores. The fire suppression technology needs to be efficient and effective, require little maintenance, be environmentally friendly and have a long certified product life. Installation speed and maintenance are also decisive factors for fire engineers. The system must be able to provide a reliable and cost-effective solution to tackle fire scenarios that could prove disruptive to store operations and damage premises where thousands of customers visit on a daily basis.

Why FirePro?

FirePro technology is smart and flexible; it is compatible with conventional control panels or can remain fully autonomous. Moreover, the system’s modularity allows it to be used for in-cabinet protection which combats fire at source preventing its spread and/or the need of activation of other firefighting systems. Results of Implementation
